My Friend-Work Colleague Lost Everything to Ian
Hello,
My name is Michael Biondo. I am a designer in Naples, FL.
I have never created a GoFundMe page before but decided to after finding out someone I care about lost her home and contents to Hurricane Ian.
I called to speak with my Tile Representative in Naples, who's name is Landra. I've had the pleasure of working with her for the past eight years.
When I asked her how she made out with Hurricane Ian, she told me she lost everything in her home to the storm.
She was just able to get her cats and some clothing out of the house she was renting as the canal water rushed inside and filled all the rooms to over 4 feet high.
Her car was out front and thankfully she was able to start it, and she got her animals and clothing into her car, but then as she was arriving at the safe location she was offered to stay at, she turned the corner and a flash flood filled the street and her car stalled out. She was just able to get herself, her animals and some clothing out of the car, and now, her car was destroyed by the flood as well
She is extremely grateful to have saved her beloved animals and some clothes but she is left without anything. Her car, housing, furniture, kitchen wares, clothing, shoes, and everyday items that we all take for granted.
She did not have renters insurance as it wouldn't cover her for flooding, and she found out that her landlord has no insurance on the home as his insurance was raised over 150% recently.
To make matters worse, she was moving out on Oct. 21st and her landlord deposited her rent check yesterday, knowing the home has been uninhabitable since Wednesday, September 28th.
Any help that anyone can provide would be very much appreciated.
Any funds raised will be used by Landra to rebuild her life.
She especially needs to purchase a car so she can get to and from work.
Landra is a lovely woman and her heart is broken.
Thank you for your consideration.
