Hi! My name is Mirka and my friend is in need of our support. I met my friend in Ghana 3,5 years ago. We are dancers and connected immediately at class. Past 3 years I have spent almost half of my time in Ghana and received so much support and love from my friends there. This particular friend is very talented and kind, he always has a smile on his face and he encourages others when they encourages.

Last time I was in Ghana, I wasn’t able to see my friend because we both kept busy.

Just recently I found out his father has been fighting a prostate cancer and their family have been using all their funds to cover the medical costs. My friend has not been able to join his dancepractices and he needed to sell some of his personal items to help his family.

His father has gone through one surgery, and it has come to their knowledge he will need to undergo another one. The second surgery will cost around 45,000ghc and we are aiming to fundraise half of the amount.

As a dance teacher sharing someone else’s culture, I truly feel like in moments like these there is no other option than to step up and support the community that has supported me.

And not only as a dancer, but as a friend, I ask you to please share whatever you can, even a small amount, to support my friends family through this difficult battle.
