My friend Elaine needs your help...

Hi Folks, My name is Vincent and I have never had to ask for such a huge favor before, even for my own life, but something was told to me that I feel the need to try to do everything I can for a good friend who has always been a good friend for anyone in need. Just a few days ago I was contacted by an old HS classmate and good friend Elaine. She was hesitant in telling me what she was calling about. After talking for a bit she let me know what her trouble was. Years ago she was diagnosed with RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis). She has been quite the fighter by staying active through the different jobs she has had over the years. From working in amusement parks, portraying a number of great characters, to working on the AFN (Armed Forces Network) as a DJ in Japan, along with being a volunteer for various causes. But now the illness has progressed to the point where she has now been diagnosed with Lupus compounded by Pulmonary fibrosis, which has now brought her to a debilitated state where her mobility is limited. She can barely fend for herself and relies heavily on her service dog Boo for friendship and support. She lives in a rural California town and assistance for her is minimal at best. She requires more assistance but has been denied several applications for various services to help her with daily life. At best she gets help from the few friends near her only a few times a week.  The one thing that can help her long-term now would be to get Elaine a mobility scooter. Despite several attempts to get one with insurance, she has been denied. Her financial resources are limited and very soon she needs to move to a new place where she will have the resources more readily available to her, including more support to look after her daily. Even after moving she will still need care that isn't covered by her insurance. By having one she can get her meds from the store or post office, she can get basic necessities without having to rely on someone all the time to do so. She has no vehicle so this is the perfect solution for her. Along with a need for a scooter, she needs a portable generator. The town where she lives is very much rural. There have been on a few occasions brownouts and even blackouts where she has no power.  This is not good for her in that she needs daily oxygen to help her to be able to breathe now that her lungs are scarred from the pulmonary fibrosis. She has a large machine at home along with a portable one that does produce it for her that is portable. These don't help at all if they aren't running. The power company in her area, although they are aware of her illness, seems to not show any compassion for her needs at times. While most folks generally use gas-powered generators, there are also solar powered ones on the market that are much more eco-friendly to her since breathing in gas fumes would not be a good idea. I want to get as much as I can for her to purchase a strong enough generator so that when the power does go down, she isn't worried about not having the power to run her oxygen machines and enough to run a small fridge to keep basic foods handy or to keep a cell phone and tablet charged. By donating to my friend Elaine, you can bring back the spark that has touched so many lives before. By being able to be more mobile she can feel like more of herself again, despite the pains of RA and the constant debilitating illnesses that make her daily life so difficult now. Besides the need for financial care right now Elaine has a need for any voluntary care to look in on her throughout the week and assist her in daily tasks so that everything isn't a struggle.  if I wasn't over 3,000  plus miles away I would do it without question but I have my own family to look after. It pains me knowing that she needs help and I can't be there for here the way I would like to be. With your help, she can be more mobile and et things in life moving again. Anything you can donate to help meet the goal and beyond would help my friend Elaine to get back to living a less stressful life, so that she can smile again and feel just a bit better, even with dealing with her RA. We never know what time we're promised here. Even when we're not ill, it can happen in an instant. I want my friend to continue on living life, to be able to see her friends and not be confined to home. I want her to get the best care for her illness so she does not have to worry too much about how or whether or not she can get help. I hope you will help my friend Elaine and donate today.  Be blessed in your day today and life always. Thank you and God Bless. Vincent
