Even Strong Women Need Help

It's hard to sometimes but wonder, why our fate is the way it is. Why some people no matter what they do, don't get a break. Yet my dear friend Henah, is always a blast of positive energy and gratitude. Never failing to see the bright side, to hold onto endless positive possibilities...

Last July, 2 weeks after her 50th birthday, Henah got the shocking diagnosis that she has early onset of Parkinson's. It was a real blow, but like her true self, she focused on how she would beat it... Henah has always looked hardship in the eye and is determined to figure a way...from a challenging childhood, living in a car in her teens to starting her own business and bringing up her 3 children as a single mother, she has always chosen to press on forward. Her children have always been her number one priority, and it was no different last July when she received the diagnosis. Henah continued to do her best to run her business, care for 2 children in university and her 11-year-old. However, the disease was not letting up, making it hard for her to physically function. One of her children had to pull out of school to work 7 days a week to help make ends meet. If you know anything about Parkinson's, stress makes it worse. By the time the new year rolled around, Henah was stressed to the hilt and the disease was unfortunately spreading fast now, moving to the other side of her body. She was struggling to put food on the table, to get her needed medication, to pay her rent. I reached out to her about the possibility of setting up a GoFundMe. I did this as I know how adamant she has always been to work hard and make it work.

While she continues to remain positive, with unfaltering gratitude and care for others, she is not able to do it on her own. The situation is dire now, as she has to immediately move into a smaller affordable place. If you are wondering why some of us have it harder than others, there really is no answer. All we can do is remain resilient in a state of gratitude and do whatever small part we can to help.

We would be very grateful for any support to help Henah and her family. Every bit counts no matter the amount.

Thank you so much, in advance.
