My friend Jack has just endured extensive surgery for cancer, and as he recovers and awaits next steps, he is unable to work or replace his lost income.

We all know that cancer brings its own unique and terrifying stress. Not being able to pay one's bills exacerbates that stress and works against recovery, exactly at a time when all available energy should be channeled towards healing, and towards building reserves of strength for the next steps in treatment.
