My friend Ameer needs help

My friend Ameer lives in Gaza and has asked me to share his story here in the hope that he can raise enough money to keep his family safe and fed during this ongoing genocide. The following message is directly from Ameer:

The situation in Gaza is extremely difficult. I am in need of money, but I was raised from a young age to never take from others— even if I was dying of hunger.

However, if you truly want to help me and my family, you can support us by donating funds to help us afford the extremely high prices of basic necessities like food, and to help us leave Gaza. We don’t want to leave Gaza — it's the place where we were born — but for two years now, we have been facing constant extermination.

Our education has stopped. We are living a life of humiliation.

There are thieves and thugs from among our own people. Our war is not only with the occupiers, but also with those who have collaborated with them.

We were not raised to live like this.

We are living in a jungle here in Gaza, one in which everyone is preying on one another. I'm afraid of losing my family.

Once we reach any country, my father is skilled in his field and very good at what he does. He also holds many certificates of experience.

Some people manage to leave Gaza through the Red Cross, but they have very strong connections. It doesn’t have to be the United States — we just need any country where we can live in safety and dignity. Please, if you have any connections to organizations, let me know.

I know that leaving Gaza with my family will be difficult, but any amount donated will help us very much. I need to continue my education and support my family, and leaving Gaza is the only way I can do this. Please share my story. Thank you.
