Hi, my name is Debbie, and I’m fundraising for my father.

My lovely 78 year old dad, some how dodged death yesterday when his trailer caught fire while he slept.

Its still unknown how the fire started, but

the flames swept through at such speed.

Due to my dad’s poor hearing, he wasn’t woken at first by the cry’s outside from a neighbour!

It was his two dogs who raised the alarm and woke him up just in time, for a couple more moments, he wouldn’t have been able to get out from the bedroom to safety.

He left with only the clothes on his back, running out into the snow and the -14 degrees!!!!

Sadly his dog poppy died in the fire, which has left him utterly devastated.

Within minutes his trailer had been obliterated! Nothing left at all to selvage.

His truck and car had also been burnt to a crisp!

So my dad now finds himself in his retirement, without a home or vehicle, also loosing every sentimental item he owned.

luckily he wasn’t burnt, but lost just his hair in the fire, knowing this could have been a whole lot worse.

I’m praying to be able to raise enough money to put towards a new trailer for him to live in, to help start rebuild his life again in some way!

Sadly distance separates us, he lives in Vancouver, way out in the sticks, very isolated, it pains me that I can’t be there to offer support and to help rebuilt his life again, I believe this is my only chance to do that, from afar
