My father-in-law lost all in the Maui fires

Hi there!
When we heard about the fires in Lahaina, we initially weren't that scared. It wasn't until we realized the severity of the issue, that our fear set in. My father-in-law is 83 years old and has about 15% of his vision left due to glaucoma. When we couldn't make contact with him, and saw the devastation in his neighborhood did we become truly frightened. We couldn't locate him at any shelters or hospitals - and we then began to understand that he may have lost his life in the fire. It was many hours later that we discovered that his very kind neighbor swooped him up and took him to their family's home on a different island.
The home he rented was completely burned to the ground - along with everything that he valued. He is a man on a fixed income, and barely made do with that! He left with only the clothes he was wearing - a T-shirt and a pair of shorts.
I would like to provide a small nest egg for which he could replenish his clothing, put money down on a small, modest apartment, and purchase the necessary items needed to fill his next home. This man - this truly giving and delightful man - really needs your help! Every dollar counts!!!!!
If you know me, you know I would only ask of this in the most dire of circumstances
