My Father suffered a severe - lifechanging Stroke
Donation protected
Hi my name is KP and my father Eduardo Peraren now 74 years old, has suffered a severe stroke on May 4th, 2022 in his hometown of the Philippines. There was a large cerebrovascular accident that affected the right side of his brain and made him half-paralyzed: Left sided facial droop, difficulty speaking, left arm and left leg lack of movement and strength. In addition to, he acquired pneumonia during his tenure in the hospital nearby his home. That critically moved so fast that in several hours he barely could breath and forced us to transfer him to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a hospital called Riverside in the city of Bacolod. Since May 9th, Eduardo has been in the ICU on a ventilator, intubated, and receiving the strongest antibiotic in the hospital to fight that pneumonia infection. Until now, he is struggling with defeating it and requires constant care and suctioning to help improve his breathing. As his main healthcare decision maker, I even decided to get him a trachestomy (surgery to open an accessible pathway in his trachea) that which levels up the suctioning and assistance in his breathing. He is struggling severely and isn't even past the first battle. Once the pneumonia improves, he is required to begin Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy to gain his strength back and get back to normal with independence after such a severe stroke.
Eduardo Peraren is a generous and hardworking man. He was born and raised in the city of Murcia, nearby Bacolod City, a sibling of 6 brothers and sisters. He came to the United States to fulfill a future in the land of opportunity in 1983 for his wife and me, his only son. With that, he also frequently sent money home to his siblings to help financially and even help his nieces and nephews to acquire a proper education in a very poverish city. Currently, those same family members are returning the favor in helping with patient care, communication and my assistance in remotely managing his healthcare from the United States. His medical bills are racking up astronomically and it will not cease until I can comfortably and safely have him come back here where I can closely care for him.
Your generous donation would assist me and my family in the cost of the ICU and hospital stay, the cost of the medicine and the medical professional care in Riverside Hospital, the cost of his caretakers or medical assistant that will change him, feed him, and help at the hospital and/or home until he regains back his strength, and pay for his Physical and Occupational Therapy that may be for 6 to 8 months. Unfortunately, public health insurance in the Philippines does not cover much of the medical expenses so everything we pay to keep him alive mostly has to be out of pocket. I truly appreciate your concern with this and my family is forever grateful for your assistance.
