Hi, my name is James and I am fundraising for my beloved father, Steve. My father has been diagnosed with kidney failure and coronary heart disease.
My dad is the man who everyone just instantly got along with. He is hard working, dependable, and the light of the party. Ever since I can remember, my father had to be both "mom" and "dad" to my sister and me. He made sure we felt like we had everything in the world while we struggled financially after the death of my mom. As a young child, my dad introduced me to sports since he is a big fan of soccer, football, and baseball. My dad had a lot of influence on my life because he is my first role model. He wanted to show my sister and me everything this world has to offer. I have so many happy memories of my childhood that I did not realize my dad was struggling behind his smile.
My dad taught me some of the biggest life lessons that I carry with me today. One of the lessons he taught me was to "never be satisfied and always be hungry for more." He instilled a mentality of determination and ambition. Because of my dad, I am now an Optometry student as he was the first one to believe in me and continues to be my biggest supporter.
My dad's health declined rapidly. He has been diabetic for a few years now, and he was recently diagnosed with kidney failure and coronary heart disease. He has not been able to play any of the sports he loves. My dad has not been able to work because he is getting dialysis 3x/week. He is on the donor list for the kidney transplant and is about to undergo coronary bypass surgery this month. Due to his health condition, he is unable to work and cannot afford his medical bills and living expenses.
Please consider donating to help my family as we go through this tough time. We appreciate any help we can get.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my dad. Please consider donating and sharing his story on your social media.
