Hello - my name is John Fisher, Jr and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my father, John Fisher, Sr. He was recently involved in a hit and run crash on Wednesday 5/10/23 in Burbank, IL while riding his bike to work. The vehicle who fled left my father in critical condition - he sustained swelling and bleeding on his brain, 6 broken spine vertebrae, broken ribs and very bad bruising all over his body. The offender who was caught 2 days later did not have insurance, leaving my family with a difficult financial burden. We are hoping that our auto insurance covers my father for the uninsured motorist claim, but my dad has not drive for 20+ years, so the lawyer said if my father is not covered on the policy we unfortunately are responsible for the financial consequences. With my dad being out of work for a few months, and my mom exhausting all available PTO from her employer so she can be home to get my dad to and from his neurological appointments, bi-weekly CT scans, occupational/physical therapy, they are very worried about affording regular monthly bills; in addition to the therapy, part time home nurse and other treatments that is not fully covered by our insurance.

My family and I never had the courage to ask for financial assistance, but we have endured a very tough financial burden which left us with no choice to try and raise money - this will help supplement the loss of wages both of my parents are going to experience and to have additional funds to put towards my dads treatments.

We very much understand we all live in a rough time with the current economy, so there is no amount that’s to small. All donations will be very well appreciated. If you are unable donate, we understand, a share of the post will be greatly appreciated as well.
