Hello friends My mom and her husband Eric need your help. First let me give you some background.
Seven years ago Eric decided to start school and embark on a path towards financial freedom. The economy had tanked and he was laid off from his job. He wanted to provide for his wife (my mom) and his daughter (Becky) in a grand way and given his passion for computer engineering decided that this was the most secure path to secure that dream. He knew it would not be easy but he was determined to provide a better future. His schooling path would be more difficult than he thought......
About 3 years into his degree he started to experience seizures that would debilitated him for days. Doctors were at a loss and could not find reasoning but Eric pushed on. He worked with his school and professors never giving up on his dream. The seizures got worse and Eric still persevered. In 2016 the news that ITT tech was shutting down hit them hard. It left thousands of people with years of misinvested time, energy and funds. He was devastated at first but quickly turned his fears into motivation. He picked himself up and reinrolled at a local university to continue towards his goals while working for other veterans part time through a work study program. This allowed him to study and make a small income.
June 2019, 6 months before he would graduate with his degree, he went to the doctor with some nausea. He received news that he had 3rd stage pancreatic cancer. He is now putting his career dreams on hold and in a fight for his life.
This man is brave, strong, compassionate and so giving mom has been a glass artist of 30 years. Mom has provided income durring his schooling and Eric would be with her almost every weekend at the local artist market....they worked seamlessly as a pair, as a team, for better or for worse. Now she is away with him at hospitals through out the south trying all they can to find hope, to find options. She still brings her glass work with her to countless hospitals and somehow finds time and mental strength to leave Eric and work but it is not enough. Medical bills are piling up and life is taking her away from her studio more and more. Unfortunately due to the kind of VA, work study jobs Eric has held in the past 7 years he is not eligible for disability or assistance of any kind and they are out of options.
I am asking you for help. They have helped me and many others through out the years and now they are in need. They would not ask for themselves so this is my plea on their behalf. Please please send them love, good thoughts, healing prayers and if you are able to a financial contribution. They will need to raise 13 thousand dollars in the next couple months to cover medical bills. They have insurance but there are many gaps. Please help me give a gift of some mental and emotional relief to this amazing team. If there was ever a deserving pair it is these two. Thank you in advance and many blessings to your families
