Dan and Emily Salmon and their four children Jasiah, Iyla, Ruben and Kieran were displaced by the Camp Fire on November 8th 2017, Paradise, CA. Kieran and Emily have been through all of this before in the wildfires of 2008. They were lucky to have somebody at home this time. Emily was able to evacuate one dog, two cats and the goldfish. For this reason, they are so fortunate. Many people had already driven down to Chico to work or were not home to get anything out of the house. The fire came from Pulga and through Concow and within 2 hours had already reached Paradise. It was a fire tornado. Emily was expecting the fire to come from a different direction and did not realize until she was loading some things into the car that the fire was at the house and was coming in very fast. No one came to evacuate the street and the internet was down and information was very hard to get. At the last minute Emily ran down to the chicken pen and opened the chicken gate so they could escape because last time Emily's house burnt down in concow the chickens were unable to get out. One chicken was also rescued and unfortunately during that process, the family's chihuahua, Flash, ran and hid because he doesn't like being yelled at. Emily tried to wait and call Flash butthe fire came and she had to leave. His whereabouts are unknown.Three cats are also missing. Everyone is traumatized. Days are spent looking in four different shelters and on three different Facebook pages for any information regarding missing pets and seeking housing. Due to the number of displaced families, housing is proving to be very hard to find and they may need to purchase an RV. Their work has been put on hold as so many clients are displaced and properties destroyed. Emily also lost her office and massage tables. Most things were lost in the fire but Emily did manage to grab a few things hanging on the wall, birth certificates, some clothes and a little bit of cash they had. Any donation is helpful as they navigate this tragic time. Thank you for your generosity♡
