Amidst the fires of war in besieged Gaza, amidst the darkness, the bombing, and the smell of gunpowder, we appeal to you for help. Since we lost our homes, we have been suffering from a media blackout, destruction, bombings, death, epidemics, power outages, shortages of potable water and food, and shortages of medicines. We are now sleeping in tents under bombardment in the cold of winter and rain. There are no longer any safe shelters here. The city we dreamed of improving is now ashes that smell of blood and corpses.
