Hi Everyone,

My name is Tomoe. My mother Yuka lost her home in the fire that happened in Lahaina, Maui.

She was in the house when the fire started in their neighborhood and barely escaped from it. She lost everything, as she was only able to bring her phone and swimsuit so that she could jump into the ocean. Right now she is in the shelter in West Maui. She will need to find a place to live and she will need all clothes, shoes, furniture and etc…. Everything!

As a Japanese American growing up in Hawaii the news is absolutely heartbreaking. My mother moved to Maui last year and she loves the Lahaina neighborhood.

Please help her rebuild by contributing what you can, and thank you so much!

I will update the photo attachments as I receive them. The cellular connection is still unstable in Maui so it takes time for her to send them.
