Hello, my name is Corey Reynolds. My son, Landon Reynolds, age 7, has had more than his fair share of life. Landon was born at 33 weeks and 3 days and ended up with bacterial meningitis at 20 days old that almost killed him. Due to the meningitis, it destroyed almost all of the right side of his brain and some of the left. Because of that, Landon ended up with hydrocephalus and a seizure disorder, along with a shunt on the left side of his head and then a second shunt on the right side of his head at a year old.

Fast forward to August of 2025, Landon had a grand mal seizure that lasted for 10 minutes, where he had to get airlifted to the children's hospital. We spent a total of 5 days there, where we found out Landon has Electrical Status Epilepticus in Sleep (ESES for short). ESES is a rare type of epilepsy that occurs primarily in children, characterized by seizures that occur during sleep. Landon’s brain runs 95-100 percent of the time when he is sleeping. No medication seems to be helping him. So, we are currently starting the process to see if Landon is a candidate for either a full hemispherectomy or partial hemispherectomy. On top of all that, Landon has also been dealing with a staph infection in his right shunt since September of 2025. They thought they had it under control, but on Halloween, we brought him to the E.R. where we found out the infection spread to his stomach, so they had to remove the shunt completely before it ended up spreading to his brain. They ended up discharging him on Saturday (11/2/2025) and not even 24 hours later, we were back in the E.R. for spinal fluid building up. They ended up going in today (11/3/25) to put in a whole new shunt, but Landon is going to be in the hospital a minimum of 4 days to still treat the infection. Landon has been to the hospital a total of six times since August with multiple day stays, along with an E.R. visit or two.

We are a one-household income. I’m unable to work due to Landon’s medical needs and it’s starting to get hard to pay the bills. I know once we start falling behind, it’s going to be hard to get caught up. We live over an hour away from the hospital, and unfortunately, my youngest cannot stay with us. Dad still needs to get back and forth to work as well. I’m not asking for a lot; I know times are tough, but anything would be truly appreciated in this time of need. Whatever we get will be going towards bills, gas for Dad to get back and forth from the hospital to work, and to help us during our hospital stay since we are nowhere near done with the hospital.

Update we found out Landon is going to be having surgery at the end of February there going in and doing a right side Hemispherectomy (meaning there removing the whole ride side of my sons brain.. so we don’t know how it’s going to impact him physically and mentally)we are in the process of finishing his last set of testing they need before surgery they said we should know a exact date after the holidays mid January… they also told us we are going to be in the hospital a minimum 6-8 weeks if not longer. Then hes going to need to continue therapy once’s we get out of the hospital. So if you guys could please help by sharing or donating it would truly mean a lot to me and my family ❤️
