Family Expenses and Donations

Hello my name is Clarence Jackson. I started this fundraiser for my brother and our family.

On Memorial Day weekend, after feeling unwell off and on for some time, our beloved Tre Brookins became acutely ill with severe headache, fatigue, and nausea. Testing in the emergency department at Piedmont Athens Medical Center revealed a rare brain tumor, deeply seated in his brain. Though the tumor was non-malignant, its location in the brain caused extreme swelling and severe damage. Within 24hrs, Tre began having seizures, lost consciousness, and required assistance to breathe. He did not regain consciousness, despite the diligent care of his medical team.

This fund has been set up to defray Tre’s expenses. Funds in excess of expenses will be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to further research for children suffering from craniopharygioma, like Tre, and other forms of brain tumors.

Late in the evening on Thursday, June 8, 2023, Tre received an honor walk attended by family,friends, and hospital staff as he was escorted to medical transport and entered care with LifeLink of Georgia at Piedmont Atlanta Medical Center. Tre will live on through others as a result of organ donation. This is so fitting for a man who lived in such kindness and thoughtfulness toward others.

This sudden loss has all of us blind-sided and missing him so much. We grieve his life cut short and the future that was so bright.
