My family displaced by war in Sudan

10/2025 Update:
Since 2023, your support has helped settle my family members and has had a tremendous impact on our sense of stability. Just knowing that there are people out there who care about us enough to send money and share this fund feels reassuring, that we're not alone.

Times are dire friends, in the US where myself and some family are and elsewhere in the world. I recently graduated from college and had hoped to find a job sooner but have not had any luck. I ran out of my savings that should have lasted longer but life circumstances happen and I'm now unable to pay rent. Or any of my bills really. I am working extremely hard to land a good full-time job as that will secure me financially and my family as well.

The situation in Sudan just keeps getting worse. The recent atrocities in Elfashir and North Kordufan are devastating. I've realized a long time ago that my life and survival is not just mine. I continue to live and fight to thrive for the sake of my people who have been brutalized and murdered. I have no other choice but to do everything I can to bring them justice and carry on the voice of our Sudanese revolution.

Just like I shared a poem the last time around I want to share this one I wrote late 2024 titled Sinking into myself I was trying to connect with myself during a depressive episode and find the resilience I embody everyday like I preciously mentioned. I hope it resonates, enjoy :)
Freedom, Peace, Justice
We demand a civilian government.

Hello! I'm Lama and I'm fundraising for my family and community to help us with the effects of the war in our country, Sudan. Over 4 million people have been displaced since the war broke out 6 months ago. Your donation is going to help my family transition and start new. We will use the funds to supply basic necessities and help meet needs amongst our community.

This is a link to a piece I wrote right before the war started. It incapsulates my love for my home and my people and the shared grief we hold. I'd love for you to read it and share your thoughts too!

Thank you!
