Help my family and I deal with pancreatic cancer.

Hello, I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on October 9th, 2025. I’m fundraising to support my cancer journey, my wife SJ, and our 5-year-old son Felix. I underwent exploratory surgery on October 23rd and I’m presently undergoing sytemic therapy (a type of chemotherapy with a chemo-boosting drug tethered to it).

Our son Felix just started Kindergarten this year. One thing we are grateful for is the arrival of SJ’s sister, UU, to support us during this difficult time.

While it’s true that a pancreatic cancer diagnosis is no picnic, I have to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel! As a family, we are hopeful for a bright future. The funding is going towards basic living expenses and needs; rent, groceries, transportation (our vehicle is in dire need of repairs, and we need it to get to appointments), parking , medical expenses, etc.

Our Background:
Originally from Ontario, I taught English in Taiwan and South Korea for a number of years. Over the years, I had witnessed many students struggle with English learning; and obviously, this was (and still is) due to a lack of an English-speaking environment. Thus, my wife (who is Taiwanese, and new to Canada) and I, decided to move to Canada in September of 2022 for the sake of Felix’s English. So here we are, in beautiful BC!

Medically Speaking:
The following is a glimpse of where I am at right now, medically. On October 30th, 2025, upon analyzing the latest CT scan, the surgeon discovered that the lesion is partially wrapping itself 180° around the celiac artery, wrapping itself nearly 180° around the SMA artery, and pressing up against a vein. At present, the surgery, which was scheduled for November 3rd, is deemed too dangerous to perform.
Therefore, it has been decided to postpone surgery and do chemotherapy first. It is hoped that the chemotherapy will shrink the lesion so that surgery becomes viable once again.

Thank you for your time and support, it's greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Giorgio
