Hello, my name is Bibiana. I have been working hard on my mental health. The one thing that affects it the worst right now is our family finances. We need financial help. Anything helps!
May was a big month last year for me. My divorce was finalized, Mateo had surgery, he also had complications, and we also had mold damage to our apartment.
The beginning of June was also hard for us. We were hotel hopping until Daza's last day of school. There came a time that I was flat-broke and couldn't afford another night. (I wasn't working because Mateo was recovering from surgery) Lily said that was enough and asked her family for help and Daza missed his last day of school. We moved in with her brother. We were hoping to return to Madison.
Life had other plans. I was embraced by people that are now my family.
We were given less than 24 hours to decide to end our lease by noon the following day without any additional fees or continue our lease. Whatever money I did have went straight to a Uhaul.
Mateo bled from his surgery site. One of Lily's uncles just happens to be an EMT and he stopped his bleeding before our ambulance ride.
Mateo had a total of 3 ER runs. 2 of them were heavy bleeding from his surgery site.
In September we finally moved into our place with the help of Lily's family. We were forced to restart. We got our keys the same day Daza started at his new school. Our whole family needed fall clothes.
Financial help has been needed for a while, but I didn't know how to be vulnerable and ask for it. I had to drop out of college last semester to pick up hours at work and that's barely making a dent. Lily's side of the family has helped us in so many ways.
Between my divorce, Mateo's surgery and complications, and being forced to move other things happened. I was fortunate to keep my job. I bought a desk from goodwill and then broke my back windshield. While we were moving out of Madison, a kid shot a BB gun at Lily's car's front windshield. I knew my car needed new brakes, well there came a time I had to tow it to a shop.
Attorney fees for my divorce alone is right under - $4,000
Fell behind on rent for this month - $1,500
Front windshield replacement - ? maybe $500
Fell behind on 2 car payments - $900
Repo from a previous marriage - around $3,000
Money owed to Lily's family - $1,600
I'm open to doing fundraisers, but I need to keep working. If I don't receive any help, with realistic budgeting, I'll be on track with payments by August of this year.
