My Engine Blew Up! Help Unexpected Car Emergency
Donation protected
Hello Community,
I am coming to you asking for support. My trusty van, UFO, has been a solid vehicle for the last 4 years. Under 150k, an epic engine, all of it. I have routinely loved and cared for her as she has been our adventure van and also is my daily driver.
This past Sunday, after driving fine into town, I left River School Farm to a strange ticking in my engine and my oil pressure gauge dropping low. After a series of events of topping off the oil, a few Dad phone calls, and taking it to a local oil spot, I concurred it wasn't safe to drive and something was up. I had driven it a total of maybe 8 minutes with this strange ticking nose.
Zach came to pick me up and we took it into the shop the next day. Unfortunately, today we received the call that the oil pump had failed and subsequently blew the engine.
It's going to be $5000-$7000 to fix it. I am simultaneously heartbroken and overwhelmed.
My work in the bakery and weekly facilitation of my programs requires me to have my own set of wheels, as Zach and I are often both holding different parts of the weekly flow and not able to do it all together in one car.
This is a car I have regularly loved and looked after; for the time being, it is my daily driver and main vehicle. I am calling in support so I can get the van fixed sooner as opposed to months from now when I can afford it all on my own. We are transitioning from our busy and abundant part of the year into one market a week and it will be a long journey on my own to slowly stack up the cash to be mobile for my work and life.
Any and all help is so cherished and appreciated by me. It's hard to ask for this kind of help but I trust that when this kind of situations happen that we can call on each other when we need one another. If you can't help financially, just sharing this post perhaps with others in your circle. Thank you for reading, I know this is a small issue compared to the ocean of issues our world faces today, thank you for the love and the support through an unexpected immense stress and burden.
All my love,
Kayla
