After years of working hard and saving as much as I could, I finally bought my dream truck this past October. It was something I was incredibly proud of—not just because I was able to purchase it on my own, but because of the time, effort, and care I put into it after bringing it home. I truly loved that truck and took pride in making it my own.

Recently, it was stolen, and while I’m grateful that I had insurance, the settlement I received falls far short of what it would take to replace it with something similar. Unfortunately, I’m now left trying to figure out how to make up the difference—something that just isn’t realistic for me right now. I currently work two jobs and still struggle to fully cover my monthly expenses, so coming up with thousands more on top of that simply isn’t possible.

My insurance company did provide me with a rental vehicle, which I’m thankful for, but it’s only covered for 30 days. Because the claims process took about two weeks to finalize, I’m already halfway through that time. With my rental period running out quickly, I’m facing the reality of being without a vehicle very soon.

I work seven days a week, and having reliable transportation is absolutely essential for me to get to and from work. Relying on Uber or Lyft simply isn’t a realistic option given how much driving I need to do each week—the costs would add up far beyond what I can afford.

I want to be honest—asking for help like this is not easy for me. Especially when there are so many serious and heartbreaking things happening in the world right now, I feel a lot of hesitation even putting this out there. I’m incredibly grateful to have my health and to be safe, and I don’t take that for granted for a second.

At the same time, losing my truck has had a real impact on my day-to-day life, and I’m doing my best to recover from it. I also recognize that this kind of financial strain is something so many people are facing right now—many with families and even greater responsibilities—and I don’t overlook that reality.
