Dream Tour: Support my Family While Opening for Ani DiFranco

Hey, I’m Wryn!

I'm a musician + parent AND I have the amazing opportunity to go on tour this April with Ani DiFranco! This is an experience I have been working toward my entire career. This tour follows the release of my album 'Shapes' out on Righteous Babe Records on March 28th. I have been a working musician for years, but this moment will be elevating my art in a way that I've always dreamt of. On top of that I get to work with Ani, who has built an incredible community that I hope will resonate with my music.

My musical journey started out as a young teen. At 13 I was writing my own songs and playing open mics and busking in parking lots. I kept going— trying to find the things that inspired me and people who connected with my work. At 17 I was on my own, stretching every dollar. I lived on $1 chicken sandwiches and jumped at every chance to get on stage. Even as I grew and became a young parent struggling to support myself and my kids, I never gave up on my purpose. My dreams have been my guiding star. I have followed a slow, steady, and faithful path to this moment. I'm ready for the next big jump, after many small thoughtful steps.

I’m beyond grateful for the help I received in making the album ‘Shapes’ happen. And if I didn't have this album, I would never have gotten here, performing as part of Ani's tour. This unfolding arc has been a blessing in more ways than one.

Now, at this next biggest step, I am also facing some of my biggest challenges. Last year I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called an arteriovenous malformation, or AVM . This condition has made it so I have far fewer working hours every day. This has been devastating to my ability to work on my other income-generating jobs. Saving up to care for my family, pay my rent, and cover necessities while on tour has not been possible.

I would be so honored to have community support for this moment. This big opportunity will hopefully lead to even bigger ones! In order for me to focus and give my all—without the stress and distraction of the financial strain of being away from home—I need help. Your support will allow me to focus on my music, giving the tour my all. I have been working towards this my whole life, and I need your help to make it happen. Thank you.
