My dog Marty's Emergency Surgery

Donation protected
My sister and I rescued Marty in 2012 from a kill shelter. He was our first pet and we were so excited to finally have a dog. The day we brought him home we noticed that something was wrong. He was extremely sick with kennel cough that went untreated in the shelter so we new we had to save him no matter what it cost.

After recovering a few months later from kennel cough, he continued to face a few more challenges. Other than being an older dog and having hip arthritis, he had his front canine tooth removed, anal glands infected and removed and a broken toe that ultimately had to be removed.

His latest (and hopefully last) challenge is a major surgery he needs this week. Marty has had blood in his urine for over a month now which was first diagnosed as a Urinary Tract Infection. He was treated with medication but it kept getting worse. The veterinarian wanted to do a few more tests to see if it was possibly kidney stones in which they found out it is.

From there, the Vet decided to do an ultrasound to see how many kidney stones there are to which he discovered a tumor on his spleen, along with multiple kidney stones. They need to remove his entire spleen and the stones as soon as possible. Once the spleen is removed they will be able to tell us if it is cancerous or not.

Any donation to help pay for Marty's medical expenses is greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. Marty is such an important and special part of our family and we would do anything we could to keep him with us.
