My dog has Bone Cancer

Donation protected
I noticed a month ago that my dog Bo, who is a 6 year old American Bulldog, started limping after playing a lot or laying down for extended periods of time. I brought him to the vet thinking he was showing signs of arthritis. They gave me pills for his joints and it seemed like it was working. the day before Thanksgiving, we noticed he would not walk on his back right leg. I thought he got hurt while he was playing with our husky in the back yard, so I made sure he stayed off it for a few days. When I noticed the swelling wouldnt go down and he still would not put pressure on it I took him to the Vet. I was nervous that he broke the bone, little did I know when the X-Rays came back he had a type of bone Cancer called Osteosarcoma. It is a common bone cancer with dogs over 50 lbs. I was recomended to a Specialist for a second opinion, where they did more X-Rays to make sure it was a tumor and that the tumor did not spread to his lungs. The good news is that it did not spread to his lungs but unfortunitely he will have to have his back right leg amputated. Since I do not have pet insurance the bill is landing on me right before the holidays. My dog is still young and even though I can't afford the surgery and the Chemo, I think he deserves a chance at a normal life after cancer, even if it wil be with 3 legs. The cost of the test and the surgery will be around $5,000 and the Chemotheropy with be around $3,000. Any bit will help and will be much appreciated!! Thank you and Happy Holidays!!
