Salaam/Hi everyone, my name’s Shasmeen I’m 14yrs old,I’ve created this fundraiser to help support my family who have been displaced during the ongoing genocide.

My aunties name is Israa Selmi, and she’s from Palestine, specifically Gaza. Her and her family lived in a neighborhood at Talal- Al Hawah in northern Gaza, she then relocated to South Africa a few years ago. I have started this fundraising campaign to help the remainder of my family survive in Gaza.

Here is Israas story:My family used to live in a house filled with love and hope, until the recent war came and destroyed everything. There is no water, no food, no electricity, no petrol. no nothing. My father was martyred 24 years ago, when I was 6 years old. He left my mother with 5 kids to provide for. My mother saved no effort looking after our education and health despite the Israeli besieging for the last 15 years. She sacrificed almost daily to buy a car and put love, sweat and tears into buying a humble house for us. It took her 15 years of hard work to be able to do that. And guess what: it was simply destroyed by the Israeli military in a few seconds!

After bombing the house and besieging my family for two months in Al-Quds Hospital in Tal Al-Hawa, they went to the city of Rafah, assumed to be a safe area, but there is no safe area in Gaza.

We did not lose only our home, we lost our car, furniture, all belongings and memories. My family now basically lives in a tent. It does not have a toilet, a shower nor even a door. They have to walk a few Kilometers to do the nature call. They use the sea water to take a shower, and during this extreme cold weather they feel sick most of the time. This is just a fraction of their daily suffering.

The last 150 days were filled with pain and suffering,

I really wish that my family could have a roof on their head. With your help I believe that this is achievable. The goal of this campaign is to raise funds to provide essentials such as food, water, blankets and hopefully rebuild the remains of my family house.Let's raise funds to help my family survive and rebuild our house
