My dear. Mother needs a little help.

My loving Mother who has raised me on her own is suffering from Alzheimer's. I've been here in Atlanta to help her and it's bad. She can not be left on her own. Her short-term memory is completely gone and she repeats herself every 2 minutes and is very confused. I am concerned for her safety. As of now, I am paying out of pocket for a caregiver, bills and medical expenses. Basically, everything. A caregiver is $1,800 for per week. This is just one component of the many expenses associated with her long-term care plan.
Alzheimer’s is the most prevalent form of dementia and has been identified as the most expensive disease in America, more than cancer, more than heart disease. It is also one of the most stigmatized diseases, misunderstood by too many and often marked by profound social isolation.
At the moment I am trying to figure out her Medicaid situation as she let it expire and this will take some time to sort out, I am also visiting assisted living places while I am here.
The last thing I want is for my mother to worry about money for essential medical care and basic living expenses.
If you knew my mother, she is a hoot! She still is even in this condition. She needs help though. Anything you can contribute will go to her medical needs immediately. Thank you from both of us.
