My Dear Friend Kerri Has A Brain Tumor

Hello, my name is Fae Simmons, and I am reaching out to ask for help for my friend Kerri Tyler. Just over a year ago, doctors diagnosed Kerri with a brain tumor called Meningioma. She followed their instructions to have it checked from time to time to see if it would grow and become life-threatening. She watched over the following months as it grew and started to affect her basic motor skills, at which time a craniotomy is be needed to remove the tumor that has progressed to pushing against her brain. Sadly, her latest tests show the tumor has grown and symptoms have intensified to the point where a brain surgery is being scheduled. She is scared. I think we all would be, in her shoes.

Kerri fought tooth and nail NOT to ask for help, but she needs it (and I'm a pushy broad!). Post-brain surgery, she will not be able to work for 8-12 weeks or more, depending on the outcome of the surgery. Her Social Security isn't enough to keep the lights on, so losing her ability to work is a dire situation for her. Kerri is a strong woman who has always been able to pull herself up from whatever challenge she is faced with, always doing it with grace and a positive outlook. But at this stage of her life, she needs our help.

Who is Kerri? If you don't know her, I'd like to tell you a bit about this deserving soul who walks a path of kindness and light. She is a "Creative". She thrives when writing, singing, and performing. She had a career as a "Wynonna Judd" tribute artist, working in Las Vegas and touring the country. She is a natural entrepreneur, always seeing how to develop an idea or business into a successful venture. But most of all, she is the steward of a kind heart and a generous soul. Someone that I am proud to call a friend.

Kerri lost her dear mother a few years ago, and it rocked her world. Her mother was her best friend, her rock, and it was a devastating loss. This and the hurdles that life throws at all of us, facing the so-called "Golden Years", have left her in a precarious situation. While she's managed to keep working well into her retirement years, Kerri is now faced with this debilitating brain tumor; the outcome is uncertain. Today she needs our help while she faces recovery. Just enough to get her through the following months of recuperation and therapies to emerge the beautiful ball of energy she is, and always has been. We all (I can attest to this!), have moments in our lives when we need help from friends, family, kind souls, and the random empathetic soul. For Kerri, that moment is now. I am asking for your help... to gift her the financial breathing room she will need to survive the months following her surgery. Please, whatever you can afford, send some love her way. I always remember the time I saw her exit a 7-11 and immediately go to the homeless person that sat against the store window, and she gave him sustenance, but more importantly, showed him that someone cared.
