I started this go fund me page for my daughter Leah’s much needed MVD surgery or Microvascular Decompression to be performed in California on September 14th, 2021 at Stanford University’s Neurosurgery Center with one of the best trained and experienced neurosurgeons in the country for this disorder, Dr. Michael Lim.

For almost two years Leah has suffered in almost daily debilitating facial and ear pain. Local doctor's continually mis-diagnosed her with ear infections and TMJ. Finally a local ENT agreed that she needed to see a neurologist. She was sent to a neurologist from Duke who diagnosed her with Trigeminal Neuralgia & Geniculate Neuralgia and prescribed seizure medications to treat the pain. For those who do not know what this disorder is, it is where her two cranial nerves are being compressed in several areas by some major arteries just laying right outside the brain. These compressions cause extreme pain, electrical shocks/zaps into her face and ice pick pain in her ear.

The medications prescribed have had many side effects that affected her being able to work and care for her family, and have done little to ease the daily pain. As the medications are no longer working, surgery is her only option.

Her goal is to eliminate the medications and to be able to function normally again. Leah needs this surgery so she can get back to her life and be her outgoing energetic self again and so she can keep up with her children and not feel awful all the time while doing normal activities and routines.
