My Dads (Scott’s) Medical Emergency

Hello All! I’m Allison and I am Scott’s youngest daughter. Recently my dad had a very scary medical emergency arise that landed him in the hospital for a month. His journey started off with what seemed like a cold, but after what seemed like a million tests and procedures, we found out that he had a virus. This virus caused encephalitis, or swelling of his brain, among many other complications that kept popping up and he ended up in the ICU, intubated, and on ventilator. His situation was very touch and go but we all tried our best to remain positive and hopeful. After was seemed like an eternity, he was extubated but still had to remain in the hospital on oxygen and 21 days of an antiviral. For anyone that knows my dad, this was the first time he’s ever really been sick and it seemed like it all happened so fast. Luckily, he is a fighter and I am happy to say he is at home finishing his recovery there. However, his recovery is going to be a long one with many new doctors and therapists. During this time, my dad hasn’t been able to work which puts a huge strain on him, not only financially, but mentally as well as his work is his happy place. He is not one to ask for help, which is why I am doing it for him. My dad could really use all the help he can get as his medical bills are starting to roll in and the financial burden of a months hospital stay sets in. Anything helps and we are very grateful for all of you who prayed for him and were there for us during this time. Thank you all in advance!
