My Dad's New Hip Hip! Hooray!

Dear friends and family,
As some of you may know, my parent's have been living in Europe for the last year, which has been a great relief for our family considering the situation in our country, Venezuela.
We've sacrificed a lot to make this work, but it is all worth it when you know that they have access to all basic services such as electricity, water and medical health.
Speaking of health, after many months of unspoken pain (he would never admit it or show it because he doesn't want us to worry) my dad finally went to the doctor and they concluded that he is in great need of a hip replacement and have already set up a date for the surgery (march 5), which will be followed by about a month of rehabilitation in the hospital. Again, we're extremely thankful to have them live in a country where these procedures are standard and there is no shortage of medical supplies, but his insurance is only covering half of the treatment and honestly, paying for the rest puts a big dent in our finances.
This is where we ask for your support! If you've met my dad, you know he is one of the kindest and loveliest people you'll ever meet. He loves baking cakes and is currently organising a bake sale to help with the expenses. But the logistics might be a bit complicated if you live outside of Belgium, or even Europe! That's why we'd really appreciate any contribution you can make.
If you live in the area and want some cake, contact me! He really loves baking. But if you're not and you still want to help, I will forever be grateful and take you out for a cup of coffee/tea whenever we meet.
