Last Sunday our world turned upside down. We found out my dad has three major heart arteries blocked, two of them completely or almost completely blocked. His heart is only working at 40 to 45 percent. Without surgery, we could lose him. With it, he can live a healthy and happy life — but the road to recovery will be long and difficult.

My dad has spent his life working as a truck driver, driving endless miles to make sure our family had food, shelter, and safety. Even when money was tight, he put our needs first. Now he will be out of work for at least three months, and without his income, keeping up with bills and rent will be nearly impossible.

He’s so much more than a provider though. He’s the man who can make you laugh when you feel like crying. The man who protects our family and fills our home with love.

Right now, I just want him to focus on healing and getting stronger. I’m asking for help so he doesn’t have to carry the weight of our financial worries while fighting for his life. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference for my dad and our family.
