My Dads Final TGO Challenge for British Heart Foundation
Join us in celebrating an incredible milestone while supporting a lifesaving cause.
In February my Dad turned 80. This May, along with myself, other family members and friends, he will complete his 21st and final TGO Challenge—a 200-mile coast-to-coast hike across the Scottish Highlands. He completed his 1st one in 1990, then 10 in a row up to 2000. He also completed all 282 Munro's in Scotland.
Two years ago, my Dad suffered a heart attack while on a bike ride—a shock for someone who’s spent his lifetime hiking, biking, and embracing the outdoors. Thankfully he recovered, and even after knee replacement surgery is now taking on this challenge one last time.
When my mother was young, her father sadly passed away from a heart attack after battling heart disease. His loss left a void that so many families understand. We’re raising funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF), a charity dedicated to fighting both heart disease and its devastating consequences, like heart attacks
To honour his resilience and raise awareness for heart health, we’re hiking with him and fundraising for the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Heart disease affects so many—if you’ve known someone who’s struggled, you understand how vital this cause is.
Our goal: Support BHF’s research, prevention, and care by donating to this fundraiser. Every pound helps save lives!
The TGO Challenge:
Starts: 8th May 2025
Ends: 23rd May 2025
Route: Scottish Highlands (West Coast to East Coast)
Team: A group of 12 including my dad, brothers, friends, and me (my first TGO)
Let’s make his last TGO Challenge his most meaningful yet.
Thank you for your support :)
