My Dad's bone marrow transplant

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Pamela, and I'm trying to raise money to save my dad. In June 2023, my dad Brian was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer. He now needs a bone marrow transplant that could buy him a few more decades and give him back his life.

My dad, Brian, is 52 years old and is a mechanical engineer by trade. He has 4 kids, with the three youngest being 10, 12, and 14. He currently lives with his wife, the three young kids and his sister. He took over the role of sole caregiver of his sister since his mom(my grandma) passed away in August of 2023. His sister has Down's Syndrome and requires consistent support.

Because of the toll the cancer took on his body, he had to stop working and became bed-bound for about 4 weeks. We did our best as a family and pooled in as much money as we could to get him his medication, doctors' visits, hospital stays, and chemo treatments. We feel beyond blessed to have seen him work his way up to a better place.

He's on his feet again because of the weekly chemotherapy treatments he has been receiving since June 2023. This has been a massive financial commitment but a necessary one. Multiple Myeloma is incurable; what I'm asking for is time. Time for my dad to raise his younger kids. Time for me to see my dad again. Time for him to live and enjoy his life. I would like to have him around for the milestones that are yet to come. To walk me down the Isle, see my siblings grow-up and meet his future grandchildren.

Doctors have said his best option at this stage is to get a bone marrow transplant, the costs are estimated to be around $28,000/ £22,000, which will include his hospital stay, transplant, and aftercare post-transplant. It's a lot of money, I know, but for my dad, I have to try. He has worked so hard all his life and took care of us.

Not everyone will be able to donate, but if you wouldn't mind sharing this with anyone you know, we might get a little traction, and by some miracle, I believe we can get my dad his transplant and give him back his life.

Thank you to everyone who donates, shares, or even just takes the time to read this post. Your support means everything to me, my dad, and my family.
