Hi Everyone!
I am sure you know at this point that my dad (Mike Jordan) has had a rough couple of years with his health. He has been through 11 hip surgeries, countless infections, and more than wanted extended hospital stays.
Well, we are at a point now that he really needs prayers and some medical funding help. He has recently been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This disease is incurable. There are 4 stages and my dad is at stage 3 and it is very aggressive. As it progresses to stage 4, the lungs will eventually harden like concrete and will cause him not to be able to breath and at that point he will not have much more time left with us.
The lung doctor has given him a prognosis of 1 year to 1 year and a half. There is a medication that the doctor wants to try which is called Ofev. It sometimes helps slow the progression of the disease. It really depends on the person and there current health status. However, the medication is extremely expensive and the insurance company has denied him of getting the medication due to the high cost.
Although my dad's health is declining rapidly, we aren't ready to give up on him. We have faith in God, who is the ultimate healer. We know he has a plan for us all and although this is not the plan we want for my dad, it's here and we have to go with God.
