On January 18, 2020 my father was complaining about back pain so he went to the ER. We were expecting them to tell us that his back pain was due to the accident we had been in back 2016. However, they "accidentally" discovered something else. My fathers back pain was due to the injuries from the accident BUT that was only one reason. They did 2 ct scans, one without dye and one with dye and found a tumor on the top of his right kidney. It is about 4 cm wide and is in fact cancerous. As of now, the cancer is not spreading but the tumor itself is enlarging.  He will need surgery but unfortunately has no health insurance. Since the cancer is not spreading as I mentioned it is not considered an emergency right now so they wont do the surgery without it being paid for. The Dr did make it very clear that it was fairly early and even though the cancer is not spreading there is no guarantee that it wont so that it is VITAL that the tumor is removed soon.  We have begun looking for insurances and alternative programs that may be able to aid. Cancer is only going to be a chapter of our lives. Not the whole story. Anyone who knows my dad knows he is not one to back down from a fight so he sure as hell wont be backing down from this one. We're asking all our friends, family, and loved ones to share and spread the word. We will be doing a benefit plate as well to raise money for the costs of his surgery, medicine, travel, and recovery expenses. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
