Hello family and friends, some of you guys know me already but for those of you who don’t my name is Jasmyne and I’m reaching out in hopes to get some financial donations for my dad, David Garay.
He went in to the hospital last Wednesday for a fusion of 3 vertebrates in his neck there were some complications and during the surgery he had a stroke an nearly died on the table. Thankfully he is still here with us. When dad was in recovery we found out that due to these complications he was paralyzed from the neck down... he had no feeling in his arms, legs, hands or feet as well as his stomach.
With lots of prayers, and physical therapy we have seen slight improvement in mobility in his arms but no luck with him being able to move his hands or fingers therefore someone has to be with him at all times. He can't even get a drink, check his phone, change the TV channel. We tend to take these things for granite.
As of late dad has slight movement in his legs an inch or two in movement is giving us much hope. If you push firmly on his feet he can feel it slightly. As small as these movements seem they are a win and they pour a huge amount of hope into our hearts. Unfortunately he can’t sit up on his own as well as feeding himself. We are all hopeful for him to be self reliant again. We know it’s going to be a very LONG road for recovery and that’s what brings me here reaching out to each and everyone of you.
I know it’s the holiday season and times are hard for everyone all around but if you have any extra to spare it would really be appreciated.
Dad will be having to move out of his place as there is no bedroom or restroom on the lower level of his home.
He is not in a position to do the relocation himself either.
If you know of any programs that can help out our family please email or call me.
Even something as simple as a share of this post is welcomed.
We appreciate all of it.
Thank you for your time!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
from,
The GARAY Family
