Help my Dad through Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Alicia and if you have known me for a few years you have probably met my Dad, Kirk Lockhart. He was either tearing up the dance floor, showing you his cool amphibious car the Maki, or making you laugh.
My Dad is hardworking, kind, honest, funny, and caring. He owns his own business Air Tight Attic Insulators that he has been running since 2008 with the goal of reducing heating bills and helping people be more comfortable in their homes at a reasonable price.
Earlier this year Dad fell and has been dealing with quite a bit of pain in his hip, reducing his ability to work and his quality of life. We have been struggling to determine what was causing the pain working with the Emergency Department at St Joseph’s Hospital, as he does not have a family doctor. With the help from his pulmonologist over the past couple of weeks, countless doctor’s appointments and tests, Dad has been diagnosed with extensive metastatic disease (Stage 4 Cancer) in his lungs and bones, and impacting his hip significantly.
We are waiting for a few more tests to see how far the cancer has spread and to meet with an Oncologist and determine a treatment plan. Until then Dad is doing everything he can to work when he is able and manage his house while he deals with this devastating news.
My objective and goal is to help Dad pay his bills to keep him in his home while he receives treatment, and to pay for the medication needed to keep the pain at bay and help to battle this cancer.
My Dad has always been such a strong person in my life, supporting me to be independent and kind, showing me what it means to be a good honest person and how we should be living to help others even when we don’t have much to give.
I thank you for taking the time to read about our story and thank you for you support. Please share it with others as we try to reduce his financial stress and focus on recovery.
