Joanne & Murphy walk 125 miles in March
Hey, so Murphy and I have decided we are going to walk 125 miles in March - basically double the distance we walk in an average month! Murphy will be encouraged with lots of treats, I will be encouraged with um lots of treats :)
So, why are we doing this?!
Sadly I lost my good friend Lisa just before Christmas, she had been fighting ovarian cancer for over five years, losing her from this dreadful disease really hit hard, she was a gorgeous woman inside and out..
Also, most of you know that the Newbury family have not had it easy, losing my dad at 58, then four years later my sister Louise at 35, both from a rare rogue cancer gene which causes cancer of the stomach lining, we didn't know about this until their tumours were compared years later. The genetics experts at Addenbrookes, Cambridge took us under their wing, talked us through what having this gene meant and with a single blood test they could tell if I carried the gene, thankfully I didn't, but sadly it is still within my family....
All the money raised will go to Cancer Research, I have decided to match what is raised and donate this to Target Ovarian Cancer which was Lisa's chosen charity..
It really would mean the world to me if you donated xx
