Retired Fire Fighter recovering from Lung Surgery
Donation protected
My name is Erin and I’m raising whatever I can for my dad, Scott Temple. As a kid I used to chase the fire trucks around, watching my dad work a scene. I was and still am so proud of him. Fire fighting and fathering are two things that have come naturally to him. Oh, and hunting. ♥️ I refuse to watch this malignant illness win. So I’m here to tell his story. He was (is) a Marine, then career city fire fighter for 32 years. When retired he came upon some unfortunate events that led him to come out of retirement and commit back to a work life. After a table saw accident, legionnaires disease and now this diagnosis, he is now faced with struggling to pay his medical bills associated with the cancer plus his monthly responsibilities. Just prior to Christmas he was told he has lung cancer and he’s going to be off of work for some time. He was diagnosed Stage Two, and will have the spot removed. Anticipating he’ll be off for anywhere between 2-4 weeks, we want to ensure he’s able to have his responsibilities taken care of without feeling like he has to push himself to get back to work. My father is a very private person and typically would not reach out for help so that’s why I am humbly asking for any help on his behalf. If prayers are all you have to give, we’ll gladly accept. God Bless. Thank you in advance.
——> UPDATE: Back in March Dad has underwent 3 chemo treatments, and did very well with them.
He had Lung Surgery at Guthrie on June 6th. Without getting into specifics, I will just say that we encountered a few unforeseen misfortunes. Things that may keep him out of work longer, and make him retire earlier. He has requested I not speak about the specifics at this time but any donation will truly help in this situation. Again, if prayers are all you have, then please send them up.
——>UPDATE 09/04/23: Dad successfully had surgery 06/06/23. He is still out of work as of right now due to other unfortunate events. We are so grateful for the continued support, donations and prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read the update and his story. God Bless.
