Help for K9 Officer Leyden - My Dad, OUR Hero

This is for my dad, Andrew Leyden. My nephew and niece are going to help me tell you how we can all come together and help my dad, my hero. He was shot multiple times in the line of duty, due to his injuries, he needs your help. My dad’s close friend and fellow K-9 Police Officer, Linc Boyer, is going to tell you what happened:
What Happened:
“If y’all don’t mind say a prayer for my buddy and Dept of Corrections K9 handler Andrew Leyden. He was shot twice in the line of duty around 12:30am this morning, Monday, December 28, 2020, while apprehending a suspect who was trying to throw dope over the fence at Washington State Prison (Georgia).
Andrew is one of the nicest people you will meet and will give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He didn’t deserve any of this, this morning. He was simply trying to do his job and go home. It doesn’t hit much closer to home than this.
Huge thanks goes out to Sheriff Joel Cochran and his deputies of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for getting to Andrew so quickly and getting him medical attention. Andrew was able to call me after he was shot and tell me where he was. Within 1 minute of that phone call, Sheriff Cochran had answered the phone and was already coordinating getting him help out there.
Andrew keep your head up buddy and get well soon! You’ve got more people out here pulling for you than you’ll ever know!!”

Linc is right, my dad is one of the nicest people you will meet. He also loves to help people. He catches the bad guys and helps find missing and lost people. He is my hero!

How Funds Will Be Used:
The funds will help with all the unexpected expenses that have already started coming up. Nobody in our family lives near my dad. No one even lives in the state of GA. My dad will need so much help since we can’t help him while he’s hurt bad. There’s not much he can do until he is all better. Also, he has to pay someone to help him do even the most basic things (i.e. lawn care, renovations, construction on his home that he is currently renovating, and etc.)
We love Dad/Andrew so much and wish there was more we can do, but we are little, that’s why we are asking the big people to help. Any amount large or small will be a blessing. Love you all! Thank you for your love and consideration!
