My dad, Michael McOwen aka Mugzy, was the best man I've ever known, anyone who has ever had the pleasure of knowing my dad would know how sweet, smart, generous, and loving he is. He would do absolutely anything for his family. My dad loved sports, all sports, but most specifically, he LOVED golf, and he was an absolutely amazing golfer; he was so funny, and was just so easy to get along with, his smile and laugh was infectious and he truly made friends just about everywhere he went. When I took my dad to urgent care on friday morning with what we thought was a stomach flu, I had no idea my family and I would be dealing with the greatest loss and pain of our lives just a day later...... When I took my dad to urgent care friday morning he very quickly escalated from seeming like he had a normal stomach flu, to being dizzy and disoriented, at which point I drove him to the emergency room at hoag hospital, where we found out he had a large brain bleed which is what had been causing those stomach flu-like symptoms, they rushed him into emergency surgery, which we were told went well. However the injuries to his brain from the bleed turned out to be too severe to come back from. He sadly never woke up from surgery. My family and I never realized how soon we would have to deal with a situation like this and are doing everything we can to give my dad the very best he deserves.
