My Dad, Fernando – Help Lay Him to Rest
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
It’s with a heavy heart that I share the loss of my dad, Fernando. He was loved by so many. Whether you knew him through work, family, or friendship, you probably remember his strong work ethic, his kindness, and his unwavering presence for those he cared about. For my dad, work was more than just a job, it was his outlet, his pride, and something he taught me to approach with discipline and heart.
One of my favorite memories will always be our spontaneous lunch dates. He’d surprise me with food and we’d sit, eat, and talk. One day he showed up with food from 3 different stores because he didn’t know what I wanted to eat. He was beyond thoughtful. I’d also help him download movies to his phone since he was old school. It was simple, but meant the world. He was always there for me.
As many of you know, funeral costs can be incredibly overwhelming. I work full-time, but the burden of covering everything alone is something I’m struggling with. One of the last conversations I had with my dad a week before he passed, was his wish to return to Nicaragua. My hope is to raise enough to cover his cremation and have the chance to say goodbye one last time before. I hope to travel to Nicaragua this year and fulfill his wish by scattering his ashes there, where he can rest in peace in the place he called home.
It’s not easy for me to ask for help, but I know I can’t do this alone. Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing this, means more than I can express. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With love,
Georgina Castro.
