Support my dad, Carlos A. Sarmiento’s Cancer Battle

Dear family, friends, and kind-hearted supporters,

Many of you know me as a devoted family man, but I have always been private about personal matters. Today, however, I come to you with heartfelt humility to ask for your support in any way possible.

My father, Carlos A. “Calete” Sarmiento, has always been a strong, resilient man. This past December, he was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his colon. During the holiday season, he underwent surgery, which, thankfully, was successful. However, additional minor cancerous cells were detected around the operated area, leading his doctors to prescribe seven rounds of chemotherapy, spanning from the new year through May or June.

Despite facing this challenge with unwavering strength and optimism, my father has had to cut back on all activities, including work. As many of you know, even the best health insurance plans fall short when you need them most. That’s why I am reaching out to ask for your generosity.

We have set up this GoFundMe to help cover his medical expenses, including co-pays, medications, and travel costs associated with his treatment. Our goal is to raise $2,500 to help ease the financial burden and allow my dad to focus on his recovery. Any contribution—no matter how big or small—will mean the world to us.

A Bit About My Father…

Carlos A. Sarmiento was born in Lima, Peru, and spent most of his formative years in Valencia, Venezuela. His passion for cars began early, following in the footsteps of our family’s lineage of race car drivers. From go-karts to motorcycle racing and eventually stock-car racing, my father’s love for automobiles shaped his career.

He pursued his education in the United States, studying at Fort Hays State University in Kansas before completing his degree at Henry Ford College in Detroit, Michigan. He then returned to Venezuela, where he dedicated his career to the auto industry, working with major brands like Ford, Chevrolet, and Jeep. Later, he spent a brief period back in Peru, representing Nissan and Volvo before ultimately moving to the U.S. to be closer to me. Here, he transitioned into designing fire suppression systems for commercial buildings.

Beyond his professional achievements, my father has always been a pillar of kindness and generosity. He has mentored countless individuals, helping them establish their own businesses, and has continuously lent a helping hand to those in need. He is my anchor—my source of wisdom, strength, and unwavering support.

His Pride and Joy…

Above all else, my father cherishes his faith, family, and close friends. Now, as he fights this battle, I hope we can rally around him the way he has always supported others.

I know times are tough for many, but even the smallest contribution will build toward a greater impact. Your support, prayers, and words of encouragement mean everything to us.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.

With gratitude,
Carlos L. Sarmiento
