Christine is a loveable and kind person. She has given people her time and kindness during their struggles and I’m hoping to pay it forward to her.
I am Christine’s cousin and I am starting a GoFundMe account to help Christine in her fight against breast cancer. She is a widow with three children ages 17, 13 and 5 years old.
In 2024, the government lowered the age for breast screening mammograms to 40 years old and Christine didn’t hesitate to book hers.
Breast Cancer had touched our lives in 1995 when our grandma passed away from this disease. Then again, it affected her when her mother-in-law was diagnosed.
On the day of her mammogram, Christine went in for her test, not knowing her life would be changed. Following her mammogram, she was contacted to go for further testing, including an ultrasound and a biopsy.
Following these tests, Christine was diagnosed with Triple-negative breast cancer in December of 2024, shortly after her 44th birthday.
Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive form of this disease with a high rate of reoccurrence. Unlike, other forms of breast cancer, she is initially treated with chemotherapy followed by surgery.
Because of this, Christine has had to stop working due to the risks of contracting an infection and side effects from her chemotherapy.
Cancer also affects your finances as your income is reduced by not being able to work. Groceries, mortgage payments, and other bills still need to be paid and can pile up.
By donating, she can focus on treatment, recovery and being present with her children.
My hope is that we can help Christine during this difficult time.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
If you are unable to contribute at this time, please consider sharing this GoFundMe webpage.
Sincerely,
Melissa Conrad
