My Cousin David is suffering from Bone Cancer
Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Alexia Ayala, I live in Nashville, Tennessee and I'm asking for donations for my cousin, David. David recently turned 7 years old and for the past two years he has been fighting the long fight against a rare form of Bone Cancer. Before this, David was a happy-golucky kid with enough imagination to power Disneyland itself. Since the cancer, David has been in and out of hospitals, doctor's offices, and treatment facilities. As you can imagine, that is no way for a kid to live their prime time of childhood. To be more specific about David's Cancer and treatments, it initially started with his mother, Maritza, noticing an abnormally shaped lump on his ankle- she thought what anyone else would've in the moment and thought that her child may have sprained/broken his ankle. Unfortunately, the reality was far graver than that, and the doctor gave the heartbreaking prognosis that her son did, indeed, have Cancer. After this discovery, David was immediately started on chemo therapy and a bi-weekly blood transfusion schedule- as it turns out, individuals that have this specific type of cancer can no longer produce healthy, untainted blood. After some time, David appeared to be in remission and doing well; however, he shortly was rediagnosed with upon the discovery of 5 new tumors, having multiple in his brain, back, and collar bone. After this, there was a painful amount of back and forth treatment- with his Mother and Father being desperate to offer her child some relief after all of the pain, they found a doctor that is offering a new treatment for this particular Cancer. After beginning this new treatment David has begun to see some massive benefit to it, with two tumors in his brain clearing up and more showing the same positive feedback. David unfortunately has lost a lot of his mobility and vision- for a time he was blind out of two eyes but thanks to this new treatment he has regained some vision in one of his eyes and is showing possibility of being able to regain his mobility. Currently David is wheelchair bound and his Mother and Father are struggling to maintain this type of treatment; each one of these treatments can range anywhere between 15-20 thousand dollars. David and his family reside in Mexico and so they have asked me to tell this story and ask anyone that can the extra money to give it to good cause. I love my cousin and I want his to have the ability to live a beautiful life and a fun, happy childhood.
