Hi, my name is Jennifer Simms and I started Destiny Camp International with my husband Nathan in 2005 in Lafayette, Louisiana. We are a swimming instruction business that provides both private and community swimming lessons throughout the years we instructed 7561 students both young and old. In 2013 we implemented a community aspect where we provide education to community youth at public pools. We desire to continue helping swimmers as we lost hundreds of victims to drowning during Hurricane Katrina. To reduce the number of drowning victims is a desire for our brand and all we ever wanted to accomplish.
In 2016, I lost my partner and husband Nathan to cancer a disease I know all too well myself as I have overcome the battle of breast cancer. I have been handling the business on my own for the past 7 years. Recently the home pool cracked at the bottom and I attempted to preserve it by patching it up. Due to it being fiberglass, it is unable to be repaired. I attempted to file an insurance claim and the insurance has denied it.
Unfortunately, I am unable to cover the cost to replace the pool, provide the labor cost, and the cost to cut the trees required to get the pool in. The cost for the pool is $69K and the tree removal is the $11K we are asking for any help. Nothing is too small to assist with.
I am asking the community to assist me so that I can continue to not only make a living for myself but provide jobs to our youth lifeguards. Many of them use this as a Spring & Summer job to absorb the pricing and purchase their school clothes and supplies.
We teach infants, special needs individuals, senior citizens and even adults. Please help me save my beloved Destiny Camp International Swimming Business. Any little bit helps. Thank you...
