Hi, my name is Alisha and I’m fundraising for my grandmother and her beloved cat, Chiqo. My grandma lives alone, and Chiqo has truly been her best friend and daily companion. She wakes up with her, watches TV by her side, and brings her so much comfort and love.

A few days ago, Chiqo went missing. My grandmother stayed up until 3am waiting for her to come home — she was so worried and heartbroken. The next day, we received a call from an emergency vet saying Chiqo had been found. We believe she was attacked by a fox, and sadly her leg was badly injured.

Chiqo is in a lot of pain and the vets have said she needs her leg amputated to survive. My grandmother has been devastated watching her little companion suffer.

The total cost for her treatment is £6,000. We have managed to borrow £2,000, but we still need £4,000 to cover the remaining amount.

I can’t help but feel partially guilty because my grandmother had asked me several times to help her sort out pet insurance and I delayed it, thinking we had more time. If we had arranged it earlier, things might have been easier — but right now we just want to make sure Chiqo recovers and can return home to the person who loves her most.
