Hey Everyone!
I am reaching out today because our cat (Poppy) had been peeing blood for 3 months, we took her in for a second scan...and it would seem she has urinary stones that we can't comfortably afford treatment on our own for.
We've been trying to treat her condition with special urinary food for the past three months, hoping that the stones would dissolve on their own (which had draining our savings entirely) .
Unfortunately, she hasn't gotten any better, and we've now learned that the type of stones she has needs to be removed by a veterinarian instead of the special food we have been giving her.
From what the vet has explained to us, there are different types of urinary stones - some can be dissolved with a special diet (which we tried) and the one where the vet has to step in, sadly - the one our cat has.
The vet had discussed with us that they want to flush the stones out, but there is also a risk one of these stones can get stuck in her urinary track, depending on the size and amount of stones she has. Luckily, she is a female cat and it is much easier for her to get these stones out. But it is still something we are worried about.
On top of the expensive surgery (from what we researched is 13,000 SEK and 25,000 SEK), she will also need the special food and medicine which alone costs around 800 SEK, and with the additional medical expenses, everything starts adding up far too quickly.
I am a very small independent artist and while I would have loved to cover this by working through commission, it's unfortunately not realistic for me to earn enough at this time. I also have to account for taxes/fees taken by vgen and paypal. So I don't get to keep most of the amount from the commission.
I will still do all that I can to earn some to contribute towards her treatment, but I can't manage all of these expenses on my own. That's why I'm asking for help.
It's really not easy asking for help, but she is my cat and I cannot imagine my life without her. Any donation, no matter how small, would really mean EVERYTHING to me and my family.
Even if you aren't able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, this was really hard to do - since its hard reaching out.
It means the world to us to know people care and want to help our cat. Thank you <3
