Hi,
My name is Riva and I would appreciate your help. I realize there’s more important things in the world, but I’m hoping you will consider helping me raise money to pay for surgery for my cat, Amadeus. Amadeus is my kitten of 3 years and fell out of my apartment window, two stories up, and hit his head, causing a hard palate fracture. That is a fracture in the roof of his mouth, which if isn’t fixed, means anything he eats or drinks can go from his mouth into his nose and lungs. This can cause death-threatening pneumonia and other issues that occur when things get into cats’ lungs.
I'm a college student and a bartender in San Francisco and I can’t afford his treatment. The total cost of his medical fees is aboout $6,000. He had to go to the emergency room where he was given x-rays and other examinations to check for damage from the fall. They discovered the hard palate fracture and kept him overnight to monitor him, give him pain medication, and keep him for surgery in the morning. The total bill at that point was $2,545. I had him transferred to another vet for the surgery so that it would be less expensive. Still, to do the surgery, he must be given anesthesia, and he will need to have a feeding tube put in so that he doesn't damage the fracture while it's healing. The total cost of the surgery will be an additional 2,791 on the low end and 3,538 on the high end.
Amadeus is very dear to me, and has been my emotional support cat since I adopted him as a kitten three years ago. He's a big sweetheart and needs the surgery so that he doesn't have life-threatening problems.
Any amount of help is much appreciated.
Thank you so much for considering helping Amadeus.
Much love,
Riva
